Ordinary Corporate Members

(a) Bangladesh-registered majority-owned subsidiaries or liaison/branch/representative offices of businesses established under the laws of any EU Member State and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries.

(b) European companies including brands and buyers which do not have a legal presence in Bangladesh in a form permitted by the laws of Bangladesh, but which are established under the laws of any EU/EFTA country.

Associate Corporate Members

(a) Local businesses established under the laws of Bangladesh including joint-venture companies that can demonstrate to the satisfaction of thc majority of the Board that they have substantial business ties to the EU.

(b) Or any professional organisations or professional service providers or individuals from EU/EFTA or Bangladesh, whose membership would benefit EuroCham, provided that the membership is authorised by the Board of Governors.

Affiliate Members

EU national bilateral business organisations, duly registered in Bangladesh, officially recognised by their diplomatic missions and that may have entered into a MoU with EuroCham Bangladesh.

Admission of Members

• Any Company wishing to apply for admission to Euro Cham as an Ordinary Corporate Member , or as an Associate Corporate Member may join as a founding member at the time of formation of EuroCham, afterwards they can apply and must go through a systematic due diligence process based on a template to fill in, and submit its application of admission in the form prescribed by the Board of Governors. The Board at its next meeting following the receipt of a duly completed application form shall consider applications by simple majority and promptly notify an applicant whether or not it has been elected as a member. Election of a candidate as a member will be valid from the date when a majority of the Board members approves the application of such candidate.

• Any officially recognised national European business association from the EU Member States, operating in Bangladesh at the time of the formation of EuroCham, may join as a founding member. National European business associations established afterwards may become an Affiliate Member upon submission of a letter of endorsement or accreditation to the Board of Governors, issued by the Commercial Office / Trade Commission / the Head of their diplomatic mission(s) in Dhaka or in the region.

Members' Rights & Duties

• Any national business association of EU Member States in Bangladesh shall have the right to apply to be an Affiliate Member of EuroCham, pursuant to Article 4.1.3, and shall be entitled to join on a rotation basis the Board of Governors, represented by their Presidents or any designated nominees without election, and shall have the right to be elected for the position of a Vice-chairperson. If deemed necessary, the EuroCham Board may sign a MoU with officially recognised bilateral European business organisations, setting out non-competition provisions.

4.3.2. Ordinary Corporate Members shall have the right to elect or be elected in the Board of Governors or for the Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, or Treasurer positions, represented on the Board by its top corporate manager in Bangladesh, who may by written notice to the Chamber appoint any other senior manager from that Corporate Member to represent him/her as his/her ultimate on the Board for such period as stated in the notice.

• Each Ordinary Corporate Member and Associate Member shall appoint one of its officers or employees to represent it at EuroCham meetings as "Company Representative". Each Company Representative shall be appointed by the Members giving written notice to the Board of Governors and may be removed and replaced at any time by the Members giving written notice to the Board. EuroCham Members have the general rights to:

Vote at EuroCham meetings, but not by the companies lacking a legal presence in Bangladesh;

Participate in and be heard at the Annual General Meeting;

Participate in Sectoral Committees and in activities held for members of EuroCham;

Propose and second any resolution;

Vote on any resolution or motion in General Meetings.

All members shall be entitled to exercise one vote pursuant to the article 4.3.5 and have access to the services of EuroCham as is permitted under these by-laws, upon payment of any fees charged to Members in respect thereof.

Who can become a member of EuroCham

EuroCham Bangladesh welcomes the membership to any business organization, non-profit organization with demonstrable clear and strong linkages with European countries.

An organization can apply for Membership if:

An European company or organization which have legal presence in Bangladesh.

Any European company or organization who doesn’t have legal presence but has significant business relations with Bangladesh.

Prominent local company or organization which has significant presence in Bangladesh.

Any non-profit organization that has linkage with Europe and/or Bangladesh’s socio-economic development.

If the applicant satisfies the criteria, then the profile will be presented to Board of directors to qualify ordinary membership. The board will have the last mandate to accept the application.

Membership type

Founding membership: companies that were actively involved to found the chamber. Founding members will get 2 years exposure from January 2025.

Ordinary membership: Every business or non-profit organization that wants to be part of EuroChamp, should be eligible for ordinary membership.

Premium membership: This membership is subject to board’s approval and with the payment of premium membership fees. This membership type will get highest level of exposure in events and communication. Premium membership is limited to 6 in total number.

Membership fees

Founding membership fees: Euro 2500 for year 2025 (after that will avail ordinary membership).

Ordinary membership fees: Euro 800 per year.

Premium membership fees: Euro 6000 per year.
